As per university norms ,admission to the B.A. B.Ed. and B.Sc. B.Ed. (4-year integrated course) programme is through the entrance examination (PTET). For appearing in the entrance examination, a candidate must fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria as displayed on the official website.

 

 

From the academic session 2024, the  B.A. B.Ed /B.Sc. B.Ed course has been changed from annual scheme to semester system.However, students admitted before 2024 will continue under the annual scheme.

The teacher education programme is a systematic plan of knowledge and activities structured in the form of a course to help the students of today become the professionals of tomorrow. The teacher education programme facilitates professionals to contribute to achieving national goals. It refers to the policies, procedures ,and provisions designed to equip prospective teachers with the knowledge, attitude, behaviour ,and skills required to perform their tasks effectively in the classroom, school ,and the wider community.

 

As per the norms and standards of NCTE, the four-year integrated programme aims at integrating general studies comprising Science (B.Sc. B.Ed.) and Social Sciences and Humanities (B.A. B.Ed.), along with professional studies including the foundations of education, pedagogy of school subjects, and practicum related to the tasks and functions of a school teacher. It maintains a balance between theory and practice ,and ensures coherence and integration among the components of the programme ,representing the broad knowledge base of a secondary school teacher.

For fulfilling these aims and objectives and contributing to national development, the institute took the initiative and established the Department of Education for running the B.A. B.Ed./B.Sc. B.Ed. four-year integrated programme from the session 2018–19

 

 

After completing these courses, students will be able to understand the basic concepts and ideas of educational theory. They will develop an understanding and perspective on the nature of learners, diversity, and learning. Students will also gain knowledge of assessment concepts and practices, and analyze the structure of knowledge as reflected in different disciplinary streams and subjects. Lastly, students will develop effective communication skills.

 

 

These integrated programmes open up multiple career opportunities in the field of education. After completion of this degree, students can pursue teaching jobs in various government and private institutions. They develop the qualities required to become employable in government schools, private schools ,and other educational organizations.

 

 

To enhance employability and skill sets, the department offers various skill-based programmes and add-on courses . Students are counseled and encouraged to enroll in these courses at the beginning of the session. A student may register for any of these courses by paying an additional fee.

 

 

RS-CIT, Spoken English and Communication Skills, Competitive Examination Preparation Classes (REET/CTET/ First Grade, Second Grade, and Third Grade Examinations)
