On June 5, marked as World Environment Day, PM Narendra Modi launched the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign and planted a Peepal tree at Buddha Jayanti Park in the national capital.
As part of “Ek Ped Maa ke Naam” compaign Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Shekhawati University organised Tree plantation programme. During this, administrative officers, employees and students planted sapling under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Anil kumar Rai.
This campaign was started at Gramin Mahila Mahavidyalaya on Thursday.
400 sapling were given to the institute by Durga Ranwa. The students pledged to plant and take care of saplings. Eng. Jhabarmal, chairman of gramin Mahila Shikshan Sansthan Samiti, Sikar planted saplings and reiterated the important of nature conservation and protection. College principal, Dr. Subhag Jakhar emphasized the students on the importance of tree plantation in combating environmental issues like deforestation, climate change and greenhouse effect. Vice- chairman Mr. Balbeer Saran, Secretary Dr. R.K. Singh, Samiti treasurer Mr. Ramniwas Meel, teaching, non-teaching and supporting staff participated in the programme.
